Central Texas Museum of Automotive History

I was fortunate to visit the Central Texas Museum of Automotive History last fall.
The museum which was mostly comprised of  Dick Burdick's collection of cars and various other automobilia was auctioned off two weeks ago. This museum was located in Rosanky, TX way off the beaten path. Not something the casual tourist would easily discover, unlike Dick's Classic Garage, his other museum in San Marcos, TX. I happened to visit that one first and after a lengthy conversation with the curator decided to visit this one.

The results of the Dan Cruse Classics auction are available here and the complete Auction Catalog is here.

A nice red '32 Ford Model B Pickup

There were cases filled with unique Automaker Badges & Emblems.

Automobilia was displayed everywhere one looked.

Senior Comedy Afternoons Celebrates 1st Anniversary At Astor Classics Museum

Senior Comedy Afternoons is celebrating its 1st Anniversary with a Holiday Show on December 18, at the Astor Classics Museum and Event Center in Anaheim. There will be a buffet luncheon starting at 12:45 preceded by a walk-thru of the museum starting at Noon. Also included in the walk-thru will be entertainment.  Many surprises are in store for the audience at this show!  The cost for tickets is $45 which includes the show, the museum experience, and a lunch buffet.

The Astor Museum and Events Center is a Classics Automotive and Communications Museum that houses cars from Packards to Pontiacs, Morgans to Mustangs, Rolls-Royces to Woodys and everything in between. In addition there are also antique telephones and radios, model trains, gas pumps, antique slot machines, pedal cars, and movie memorabilia. That should give you a flavor for what’s in store.  You may see their site at www.astorclassics.com.

The Museum is not usually open to the public so this is your chance to experience Art's collection for about the price of a car show and you'll be fed and entertained!

SCA is honored to be having headliner and winner of the Funniest Female in California Award Lola Gillebaard. Lola is 81 and a very funny Southern Belle who also performs with Orange County’s Funniest Housewives!  In addition comic and writer Michael Preminger will act as MC.  He’s worked with Dean, Merv and Johnny and wrote the movie “Nothing In Common” with Tom Hanks and Jackie Gleason.  Comedian Howard Berger a regular at Jon Lovitz’s Club and who’s also written for Dangerfield and Howie Mandel will also be performing.  And Michael Sherman will have you in stitches with his comedic impressions of Hollywood’s icons from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s.

Doors open at 12:00 for the Museum experience.  Lunch starts at 12:45.  Show begins at 1:30.  Senior Comedy Afternoons loves celebrating birthdays so don’t’ forget to tell them if you’re having one.  Tickets are available online at www.seniorcomedyafternoons.com or by calling 714.914.2565. Producer Bonnie Barchichat say’s “Senior Comedy Afternoons is all about comedy seniors can relate to that’s clean and clever”. “Whoever said aging was not a laughing matter clearly hasn’t seen this show!”
