06-18-11 2nd Annual Barrett-Jackson Rally

Barrett-Jackson held their 2nd annual Rally as a prelude to the OC auction. This year it attracted various unique cars seldom seen today. Among those in attendance were a Goggomobil, Saab Sonett, Tesla, a one of a kind Woodie, an altered wheelbase FX Chevy II recreation, plus an assortment of sports cars, muscle cars, Hot Rods and Street Machines.

Barrett-Jackson Shocker of the weekend - $198k VW Bus!

I saw this beautiful bus Wednesday as I was walking through the event after picking up my credential and thought about how great it looked. My first view of it grabbed me immediately, it was sitting in the middle of building 10 with no other cars around it and the light coming through the doors set it off nicely! Hmmm, I wonder what this will go for - never did I imagine...

...when I checked the price Saturday night I was amazed! $198,000 and with the 10% commission a total of $217,800!

06-22-11 I stopped by the OC Fairgrounds to pick up my credential for Barrett-Jackson this weekend and decided to shoot a little behind the scenes so you can see how much preparation goes on to create an event of this scale.

I guess the driver unloading this Jeep doesn't know about the hands-free law!
