06-18-11 2nd Annual Barrett-Jackson Rally

Barrett-Jackson held their 2nd annual Rally as a prelude to the OC auction. This year it attracted various unique cars seldom seen today. Among those in attendance were a Goggomobil, Saab Sonett, Tesla, a one of a kind Woodie, an altered wheelbase FX Chevy II recreation, plus an assortment of sports cars, muscle cars, Hot Rods and Street Machines.

HOT ROD Magazine Cruise Night at the Automobile Driving Museum

HOT ROD Magazine is going local and teaming up with the Automobile Driving Magazine for the first official HOT ROD CRUISE NIGHT!
These will continue to take place the last Friday of each month and will give everyone an opportunity to meet the staff from HOT ROD Magazine see HOT ROD's  project cars. This is your chance to check out the Automobile Driving Museum's awesome collection,  South Bay Customs will have a motorcycle display and of course Live Music and local Food Trucks.

Saw this New Retro Vette last night!

I saw this new Retro Vette last night at the Fuddrucker's Cruise on El Toro Rd. This is being produced by an Iowa company called Karl Kustom Corvettes. This one is for sale by an Irvine auto broker by the name of Tim Scaglione, so if you have to be the first in Orange County to have this see him at Orange County Auto Wholesale. This design incorporates a lot of design clues from a mid-year Corvette and is based on a C6 platform. Some of it works for me but there are some obvious misses in the angled openings for hood and trunk, the trunk line is more obvious on the fastback.
