Tour de Wangers

Each year Jim Wangers, the "Godfather of the GTO" opens his Oceanside Warehouse, the Wangers' Collection,  to the loyal Pontiac public while also hosting an outstanding Show 'n Shine car show. This year's show, the 2009 Tour de Wangers Show 'n Go Weekend was held October 17-18, 2009! Saturday was the open house show 'n shine at the Wangers' Collection (with lunch served to all registrants). Sunday they went up to the Barona 1/8 Mile Dragstrip for some good ol' Smokin of the Hides racing action.

I only went to the Show n' Shine, which is always a great experience, mainly to catch the West Coast unveiling of the Jim Wangers signature edition GTO...

...Jim had his usual big grin on all day!...

...there were a lot of other cool cars at the show too, here's a few samples and you can see them all on SoCalCarCulture.

OC Auto Show

This year's OC Auto Show shrank again, sign of the times in the Auto Industry, but there were a few good things to look at,. the Chevrolet Stingray Concept in particular...

Here's what GM had to say about it - The Corvette Stingray Concept was developed as an internal design challenge to combine classic Corvette cues with surprisingly high-tech features, modern materials, and a striking new appearance. The car is well-appointed with a clamshell hood, scissor-style doors, ergonomic seats, rear-view camera with night vision enhancement, and a high performance hybrid drive. Interactive touch controls allow the driver to customize the power and efficiency of his or her ride and share it with friends via the in-car camera system and advanced telemetrics.

While I'm not a big Corvette fan I do like the looks of this one!

...and while shooting this one I ran into my good friend Joy Loo (on the right), author of  the Joy to my World blog...

...theres Joy again in the background...
