I saw this beautiful bus Wednesday as I was walking through the event after picking up my credential and thought about how great it looked. My first view of it grabbed me immediately, it was sitting in the middle of building 10 with no other cars around it and the light coming through the doors set it off nicely! Hmmm, I wonder what this will go for - never did I imagine...
...when I checked the price Saturday night I was amazed! $198,000 and with the 10% commission a total of $217,800!
If you missed seeing it cross the auction block on Speed here's the video courtesy of Speed.

Chevrolet Camaro Bumblebee: The Buzz is Back
The Chevrolet Camaro returns as the Autobot “Bumblebee” in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which opens exclusively in 3D Tuesday and worldwide Wednesday. To celebrate, Chevrolet will offer a 2012 Transformers
Special Edition Camaro Coupe to Bumblebee fans in the United States,
Canada, China, Japan, Europe, South America, and the Middle East.
The 2012 Transformers Special Edition will be offered as a $3,000 package on 2LT and 2SS Camaro Coupes with Rally Yellow paint. In addition to the content offered in the popular RS appearance package, the Transformers edition will feature black rally stripes that stretch over the hood, roof, decklid and unique high-wing rear spoiler; 20-inch, black-painted wheels wrapped in high-performance summer tires; and Autobot Shield logos on the center caps and front quarter panels.
Inside, the Transformers Camaro has a black leather interior accented with yellow stitching on the instrument panel, center console, armrests and seats. Autobot Shield logos are embroidered on the front headrests, as well as the center console lid.
Two dealer-installed options are also available: exclusive, 21-inch, black-painted wheels and a black ground-effects package.
Customers may begin ordering the 2012 Transformers Special Edition Camaro in July, with vehicles arriving at dealers in the U.S. and Canada in September.

Priceless
This picture came to me this morning along with the following e-mail and it's too cool not to share, so with my buddy John L's permission...
This is something you certainly won't see everyday. At the joint Chrysler 300 Clubs meet held in Carmel, California in June of 2011 vintage Letter Cars and one Imperial were allowed on the track for a couple of Parade Laps at Laguna Seca Race Course.
This is our '53 Imperial Newport which I think I can state is probably the only such car to have ever been and most likely will ever be allowed on this renowned track. We had six people on board in the photo, but the old girl that has now been affectionately named "Gracie" made it with little effort. Note the other Letter Cars in the background also on the track.
This was certainly a memorable day for Christie and myself and somehow I feel Gracie enjoyed it as well. The photo you are viewing was presented to us at the Banquet. I've stated before that this was a car I've wanted since six years old and now to have the car and this photo is priceless to me.
John
As we were corresponding about this the following pics arrived from his friend in this email...
Hi John, I took these shots out the back window as I was riding in the back seat of Jim and Ester Wildharber's white 300D.
Thought you might appreciate having them. Enjoy.

Auto Club Dragway Revises 2011 Schedule
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (June 1, 2011) – Auto Club Dragway will continue to run events such as the popular Street Legals, PSCA, MNCA/MNRA and Jr. Drags for the remainder of the 2011 season. However, events such as the NHRA National Open and NHRA Unleashed have been cancelled for 2011. The revised schedule, which includes additional Street Legal events, is intended to ensure compliance with the current maximum sound levels for events at Auto Club Dragway.
In November of 2010, San Bernardino County approved a revision to the sound standards that apply to Auto Club Dragway, setting a new higher maximum sound level for events at Auto Club Dragway. The revised standard also allows a certain number of events to exceed that limit when the Auto Club Dragway constructs a sound wall adjacent to the strip. Construction of the wall has been delayed pending a November 7, 2011 hearing challenge to the revised standard, resulting in the 2011 schedule modifications.
“Auto Club Dragway has become synonymous with great NHRA events in Southern California,” said General Manager Mark Dawson. “While the changes to the 2011 schedule are disappointing, we’re confident these modifications will result in the long-term viability of Auto Club Dragway and preserve drag racing in Southern California.”
The challenge to the revised standard will have no impact on the 2011 Auto Club Speedway schedule.
Remaining 2011 Auto Club Dragway schedule
As scheduled: Junior Divisional – load-in June 17, race 18-19; Division 7 Junior Divisional Finals – load-in Sept. 23, race 24-25; Twilight Street Legal races July 30, Sept 30 and Daytime Street Legal races Oct 29, Nov 19 and Dec 3.
Additional events: Daytime Street Legal - June 25; Twilight Street Legal July 16; Twilight Street Legal August 13; Daytime Street Legal September 17; Daytime Street Legal October 15.
Modified events: PSCA – July 1-3, September 9-11 and November 4-6; NMCA/NMRA – July 8-10
For more information on Auto Club Dragway events and an updated 2011 schedule, visit www.autoclubspeedway.com/dragway.
